High School Assignment Submission
New Assignment Submission Practices Introduced for Semester 2
Regina Catholic Schools is introducing updated assignment submission practices beginning in Semester 2 of the 2025–2026 school year. These changes are part of RCSD’s ongoing commitment to strengthening teaching, learning, and student success.
Clearer expectations for students to turn in assignments will better support learning. This updated process is designed to help students stay organized, manage their time effectively, and build the habits they’ll need throughout high school and beyond.
Why the Change?
Clear, consistent timelines allow teachers to plan meaningful lessons, provide timely feedback, and help students understand how to balance their workload. Skills such as responsibility, communication, and time management are essential for academic success, and for life after graduation. These updated practices are one way the division is supporting students as they develop these important habits.
What’s New for Semester 2
Beginning this semester, the following practices will be in place:
In‑Class Assignments
Assignments meant to be completed entirely during class time will be due on the date assigned. These deadlines are firm.
Assignments with In‑Class and Homework Components
Assignments that include both classwork and homework are also due on the assigned date.
If a student needs more time, they may request a three‑day extension by submitting an Approved Assignment Extension Request Form before the due date. This form is available in all classrooms.
Supporting Students with Care
Regina Catholic Schools recognizes that students balance many responsibilities. The updated guidelines are meant to set clear expectations while still allowing flexibility. Teachers encourage students to communicate openly if they anticipate challenges or require support. Extenuating circumstances will always be considered individually, with compassion and fairness guided by our Catholic values.
These changes reflect the division’s ongoing commitment to reviewing what’s working, and what can be improved, to ensure all students have foundations for success.
